Tailgate Ted is the Executive Chef of the Hail BBQ Crew. Ted comes up with a unique menu each week based upon the cuisine of the visiting team. The menu on average consists of at 10 dishes that are all prepared onsite at the stadium. Ted and the crew have fed over 15,000 hungry NFL fans over the past 15+ years.
Ted's passion for cooking was instilled in him by his Lola (grandmother). Lola would have Ted help her prepare dinner and teach him how to cook various recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation in their family.
Ted's Father was a diehard Redskins fan. Every time the Redskins were on they would watch the games together regardless of how good or bad the team was doing. Unbeknownst to Ted his father put his name on the Redskins season ticket waitlist when he was a baby. The year his father passed away Ted received a call from the Redskins telling him that he was now eligible to purchase season tickets. It was one last gift from his dad that he will never forget.
Ted has been able to combine his passion of cooking and love for the Washington Redskins into weekly appearances on Fox 5 DC as well as NBC Washington.
Ted was inducted into the Pro Football's Ultimate Fan Association in 2014 and into the Tailgating Hall of Fame in 2016.
